New Year, New Piglets! A Special Arrival at Jones Family Farm & Ranch

Mama Acorn with her babies just hours after birth

Exciting news from the farm! Our beloved Gloucestershire Old Spot sow, Acorn, welcomed 14 healthy piglets on January 24th, 2025. These adorable heritage breed piglets are thriving under their mother's attentive care, showcasing the natural parenting instincts that make Gloucestershire Old Spots such remarkable animals.

A Special Opportunity for Youth Programs

With the Amador County Fair approaching in July, these piglets present a perfect opportunity for local 4H and FFA members looking for their next project animal. Gloucestershire Old Spots are known for their gentle temperaments and excellent growth rates, making them ideal for youth livestock programs.

More Than Just Livestock

These heritage piglets also make wonderful pets for those with appropriate space and facilities. Their friendly, intelligent nature has earned the breed a reputation as one of the most personable pig varieties. Whether you're looking for a pet or planning to raise your own sustainable meat source, these piglets adapt well to both purposes.
