Jones Family Ranch raises livestock sustainably and humanely in Amador County

All about Jones Family Farm & Ranch…

Owners

Owners Erik and Brian Jones moved to Amador and purchased the 160 ranch property in July 2020. Located about 8 miles outside of Sutter Creek at 2,700 feet, the property was located near the historic mining town of Stone Jug. The Stanley Family were the first to purchase the property in 1964 and ran cattle, grew wine grapes and helped neighbors develop their land in this section of the Upper Rancheria.

Although Erik & Brian grew up in the suburbs of California, it has always been a dream to own and work the land and contribute to their community. Both of them are licensed EMTs and volunteers with Lockwood and Amador Fire.

A Rancher’s Job is Never Done.

Long hours, but the office has a pretty sweet view.

FAQs

  • We are constantly evolving and expanding our operation. We currently sell live pigs, pork, chickens and eggs.

Later in 2024, we will be offering turkey and rabbit.

  • We are a very small operation and we do not use a USDA inspected facility. In California, we fall under the exemption for selling rabbit and chicken.

  • For our pork products, you are not buying finished pork, but a live animal that we will deliver to a butcher for you. You will buy a whole or portioned live animal and pay us for the animal. You will pay the butcher directly for their services and arrange to pick up your finished pork.

The benefit is that you get an excellent quality product that was humanely and sustainably raised by hand. You also get to customize your finished product and may elect to have portions smoked, cured and even choose the cuts and thickness of your pork.

  • Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on the availability of our products. When we’re ready to start accepting orders for rabbit and turkey, we will post it on the web site, social media and alert our newsletter subscribers.
